We are seeking a technically skilled and experienced Technical Manager to oversee and manage road construction projects within our Roads Department based in East London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a specific focus on road construction projects, and a proven ability to manage site operations, contracts, and engineering standards in line with industry best practices.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of road construction and maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate with site agents, contractors, and engineers to ensure projects are implemented efficiently and in compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful delivery within scope.
  • Compile and review technical reports, plans, and documentation to meet client and legislative requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication and service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, service providers, and other key stakeholders to support project alignment and success.
  • Address and resolve client issues or complaints, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Monitor service delivery, gather client feedback, and produce reports to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: National Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in road construction in roles such as Site Agent, Contracts Manager, or Resident Engineer.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience on SANRAL and Provincial Road projects.
  • Location:Must be based in East London or willing to relocate.
