Part-time Piano Teacher (fixed-term contract)

- Provide individual piano lessons.
- Prepare students for performances, examinations, Eisteddfods, and competitions as required.
- Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and promotes engaged learning.
- Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and student homework.
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
- Be open to continuously developing one's teaching through personal and school-wide professional development.
- Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
- Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the Head of Culture.
- Attend quarterly Department Meetings.
- Fulfill administrative tasks pertinent to practical instrumental lessons as well as administrative tasks pertinent to being part of a whole department working together.
- Write report comments.
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the Head of Culture determines.
- Minimum B.Mus qualification with specialisation in Piano performance and teaching.
- Experience in the ABRSM/Trinity Syllabus.
- A minimum of five year's teaching experience.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Be passionate about working with children and have good interpersonal skills.
- Proven organisational and administration skills.
- A Police Clearance certificate will be required.
- Knowledge of latest teaching trends.
- Degree in Music, Performers or Teachers Licentiate an advantage.
- Experience in teaching piano from Grades 1-12 would be advantageous.
