A leading chartered accounting firm is looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join their team in Umhlanga. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute individual who has recently completed their articles and is looking to gain out-of-articles experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting full statutory audits on small, medium, and large-sized firms. The role involves assisting juniors and working with an existing client base. The Audit Senior will also perform some accounting duties, such as preparing financial statements for various business types. If you have completed SAICA-accredited articles and have experience in both the public and private sectors, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:

Conducts full statutory audits on small, medium, and large-sized firms in the private and public sectors.
Prepares financial statements for various business types, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Private Companies, Close Corporations, and Trusts, as well as group consolidations.
Calculates taxes payable by individuals, companies, and trusts.
Advises clients on tax-related issues such as VAT, Fringe benefits, and dividend tax.
Liaises with client executives throughout the audit engagement.
Drafts reports for management on internal control deficiencies and other audit findings.
Reviews audit files and supervises junior staff.
Initiates and effects journal entries, including relevant calculations.
Prepares cash flow information and all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
Maintains the fixed asset register and wear and tear registers.
Performs job costing, including variance analysis.
Performs stock counts and reconciliation of variances.

Requirements:

BCom Accounting Degree (Non-negotiable)
Completed SAICA-accredited articles (Non-negotiable)
Experience in both the public and private sectors
Exposure to international clients (Advantageous)
CaseWare experience (Advantageous)
