RESPONSIBILITIES:Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  • Manage a team of fleet supervisors and administrative staff to ensure smooth and timely execution of fleet maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and analyse fleet performance, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet vehicles and parts.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and best practice.
  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, budget, and any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards in the management of the fleet.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to make informed decisions for the fleet.
  • Manage/book all plant, vehicle, and equipment, movement etc.
  • Calculate operator hours/plant allocations/project allocations, and supply costings to the finance team.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
