
FLEET MANAGER - EAST LONDON

- Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations including forecasting and tracking expenses.
- Manage a team of fleet supervisors and administrative staff to ensure smooth and timely execution of fleet maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and analyse fleet performance, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet vehicles and parts.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and best practice.
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of fleet vehicles.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, budget, and any issues or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards in the management of the fleet.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments to make informed decisions for the fleet.
- Manage/book all plant, vehicle, and equipment, movement etc.
- Calculate operator hours/plant allocations/project allocations, and supply costings to the finance team.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
