Quality Manager (Fresh Produce)

• Managing quality of export produce in packhouses and depots as well as in international markets
• Annual updating of product specifications according to client requirements
• Implementing and maintaining robust quality standards in packhouses
• Monitoring of bin and pallet stock in packhouses
• Internal liaising between relevant managers to ensure effective execution of packing instructions
• Assisting the Technical Manager with release of orchards for export
• Assisting with crop estimates
• Packaging innovation and development
• Phytclean registrations and verifications
• Assisting packhouse management with preparation for international client visits

• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in quality management within the fresh produce industry
• Knowledge and experience of stone fruit (distinct advantage)
• Tertiary qualification (Horticulture / Pomology / related field) will strengthen the application
• Above average management skills
• Team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English
• Precise and timeous
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Attentive and focused on detail
• Proficient computer and administration capabilities
• Willing to travel locally and abroad
• Valid drivers' licence (compulsory)
