This role is all about managing stock quality and quantity, planning and forecasting like a pro, and ensuring products are where they need to be when they need to be there. The mission: drive sales, grow profits, and keep working capital in perfect balance.Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and updating financial stock plans that align with category, range, and promotional strategies.
- Using trends, seasonality, and promotional insights to build accurate item-level forecasts.
- Fine-tuning replenishment and ordering systems to maximize stock levels, space utilization, and efficiency.
- Partnering with Buyers to forecast promotions, drive in-stock performance, and optimize profitability.
- Managing special buy-in orders to hit profitability and stock performance targets.
- Creating powerful data-driven reports to guide decision-making and track supplier performance.
- Building collaborative relationships with suppliers, buying teams, and retailers to improve outcomes.
- Leading promotional planning, ordering, and pricing to boost sales and margins.
- Staying on top of pricing surveys and supplier price changes.
- Driving supplier performance improvements in on-time delivery, fill rates, and quality.
- Keeping stakeholders in the loop on out-of-stock items, especially around promotions.
- A degree/diploma in Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, Retail, or Economics
- 35 years experience in retail buying, category management, or planning.
- Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with a natural curiosity to dig into data and spot patterns.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A strategic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to turn plans into action.
