Job Summary An industry leader within the logistics and supply chain space is on the hunt for a skilled Cost Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The company operates across South Africa with a large fleet and high-volume distribution network. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in managing costing functions across multiple business units, including inventory, operational expenses, and process efficiency. This is a commercially focused opportunity where your work supports real-time decision-making and long-term growth.Key Responsibilities:

Full ownership of costing processes, including standard costing and BOM analysis
Perform variance analysis (material, labour, and overhead) and investigate anomalies
Monitor and manage inventory and stock movement across multiple locations
Partner with operations to track and control distribution and fleet-related costs
Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, and contribute to management packs
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Support internal controls, audit processes, and ensure compliance with company policies
Drive continuous improvement in costing processes and financial accuracy

Job Experience & Skills Required:

3–6 years’ experience in a cost accounting role, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing
Proficiency in standard costing, variance analysis, BOMs, and inventory management
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel
BCom in Accounting / Management Accounting required; CIMA or SAIPA qualification preferred but not essential
Analytical, proactive, and able to engage with cross-functional teams (finance & operations)
High attention to detail and a proven track record of supporting business performance through data
