We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors on all our job sites. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our main office in East London, but travel is required to the various branches and sites across the Country.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on job sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standardsProvide training and education to employees on safety procedures and protocolsInvestigate accidents and incidents and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective actionMaintain and update safety records and documentationCollaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety protocols are being followed and address any safety concernsKeep up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations to ensure the company is in complianceDevelop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparednessManage relationships with external safety consultants and regulatory agenciesMentor and lead junior team membersCommunicate and promote a culture of safety throughout the companyREQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety management role, preferably in the construction industryKnowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulationsCertification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g. CSP, CIH) is preferredSKILLS:
Strong leadership and communication skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProven track record of implementing and maintaining successful health and safety programsPsychometric tests are required to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates.Should you meet the minimum requirements, please forward your CV and supporting documents to
