Reporting to: Marketing ManagerPurpose of the RolePlan and execute ARCs collaborations, events, and public relations efforts, to recruit new audiences and grow brand love for ARC. Oversee the social media team to ensure ARCs content production and social media channels align with ARCs reach, engagement and brand love goals.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESINFLUENCER MANAGEMENTIdentify, recruit, and manage relationships with macro, micro, and nano influencers across relevant platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).Develop and execute operating procedures for all collaborations.Manage influencers within strict budgets and account for ROI.Negotiate contracts, deliverables, and budgets with influencers and their agents.Pack and send packages to influencers.Track, analyse, and report on influencer campaign performance (engagement, reach, ROI).Stay abreast of South Africas key content creators, influencer trends, platform updates, and cultural moments.EVENTS MANAGEMENTPlan, organise, and execute brand events such as product launches, press days, pop-ups, and consumer activations.Manage event planning within strict budgets and account for ROI.Provide communication and operating support to ARC stores where necessary, when events will take place in that space.Work with event production teams where necessary, or work alone, to manage all event logistics such as: concept, venue selection, activation ideas, entertainment, catering, guest lists, partnerships etc, and all post-event reporting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (events, creative, catering) to ensure all events reflect the brands identity and objectives.Build relationships with event agencies, vendors, and venues to deliver best-in-class experiences.Maintain a close relationship with brands, ensuring they are part of the event planning and sign off process.
PR:Develop and manage PR campaigns to drive media coverage and enhance brand reputation.Build and maintain strong relationships with media, journalists, editors, and industry stakeholders.Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and brand stories.Monitor media coverage and report PR outcomes, providing insights and recommendations.Handle press inquiries, interviews, and crisis communication when needed.Work closely with the marketing department to maintain synergy and support on all key launches.SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT:Develop a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with overall marketing and business objectives.Define target audiences, platform-specific goals, and content pillars with the social content producer and co-ordinator.Oversee and support the social media content team, including content producers, designers, and community managers.Work with the content team to analyse performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversions, traffic, etc.) and generate monthly and campaign-specific reports.Plan and manage the social media budget, including content production, tools, and promotion.Develop escalation protocols and handle sensitive or critical issues in a timely and professional mannerEnsure community management is inclusive, respectful, and on-brand.PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONSIdentify, pitch, and execute strategic partnerships and brand collaborations ( such as Varsity Vibe, H&M etc.) that align with ARCs goals.Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective partners.Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, PR, product, events) to deliver integrated campaigns.Track partnership performance, ROI, and report insights to leadership.Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity to inform partnership strategy.KEY CHALLENGESCoping with tight deadlines, and a large workload.Managing a variety of external teams from events teams to media + influencersProject managing and communicating with a small team.Understanding the boundaries of global brand requests versus local market knowledge. JOB RELATED SKILLSAn established network of influencers, media, event and PR contacts is essential.Outstanding communication and problem solving skills.Strong understanding of, and immersion in, social media platforms, content trends, and influencer culture.Experience with influencer marketing platforms (e.g. Humanz, Sprout etc) advantageous.Experience with managing budgets and tracking spend closely.Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (Google Analytics, social media insights).Project management; Planning and organising, co-ordinating teams, communication.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Negotiation skills.Relationship management.Strong understanding of Brand management & Marketing concepts.Proactivity, adaptability & flexibility.MultitaskingMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONSBusiness/Marketing degreeEvent or PR training is a plus.At least 3 years relevant experienceAdvanced Microsoft suite knowledgeMust be commercially astuteExperience in media, eventing, PR advantageous
