Job PurposeThe Operational Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating waste management operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage teams, projects, and resources effectively to ensure optimal service delivery and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day operational activities related to waste management services.
Lead and manage operational teams to meet project and service delivery objectives.
Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Oversee resource allocation, scheduling, and performance management of staff.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures and operational standards.
Report on operational performance, including progress, challenges, and solutions.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure service satisfaction and resolve issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including operational efficiency and sustainability practices.
Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
Ensure projects are completed within scope, timelines, and budget requirements.
Minimum RequirementsEducation: Higher than a three-year qualification (Diploma, NQF 6 or higher) in Operations Management, Project Management, or Waste Management.
Experience: At least 5 years’ proven experience in operational supervision or project management within the waste management services sector.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of waste management regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and operational activities simultaneously.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and operational/project management systems.
Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
