A leading food manufacturing company based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Quality Systems Administrator to join their Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and controlling all activities related to the effective functioning of the Quality Assurance systems, including document control, auditing, and compliance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in food safety and quality management systems, who can drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with industry standards.Duties & ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve operational efficiency and product quality standards.
Document & Record Control
  • Establish and maintain document control systems, including version and change control.
  • Oversee record-keeping to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate management of specifications and internal records.
Auditing & Compliance
  • Conduct internal audits to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on changes in quality standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Review supplier and customer product specifications for alignment with requirements.
Training & Awareness
  • Facilitate and organise training sessions on quality systems for staff at all levels.
  • Promote a culture of food safety and quality across production and support teams.
  • Support continuous awareness initiatives to embed compliance practices.
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
  • Analyse key performance indicators such as complaints, hygiene audits, and non-conformances.
  • Investigate root causes, trends, and risks, and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
Minimum RequirementsMatric (Grade 12).BSc Food Science or National Diploma/Degree in Food Technology.Certificate in Quality & Food Safety Management Systems.Lead Auditor Certificate (essential).SAACTA accreditation (advantageous).Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, and ISO standards.Experience in internal auditing within a food manufacturing environment.Knowledge of sensory evaluation, supplier quality assurance, and customer complaint handling.Strong administrative, auditing, and compliance monitoring skills.Ready to take the lead in ensuring world-class food safety and quality standards?RPO Recruitment can help you secure your next opportunity.
