We are looking for a Financial Controller, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.Your TeamPart of Allianz, the leading global insurance brand, Allianz Commercial has the capabilities, international scope, and financial robustness to deliver unparalleled business insurance solutions in Africa.The Impact You Will HaveIn this role, you will be instrumental in the Risk Management and Finance Operations functions. You will be securing regulator approval to become the Risk Manager of the legal entity. Besides that you will be responsible for the Credit Control function, guiding and managing a dedicated team towards achieving their targets. Special focus for the coming years will also be on enhancing system efficiency by reducing manual processing and integrating IFRS 17 into monthly reporting seamlessly.Some of your specific responsibilities could include:Manage the full risk management function with support from Group Risk Management.Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts for AGCS SA and AGCS Africa.Prepare and deliver annual financial statements for AGCS SA and AGCS Africa.Submit accurate and timely tax elements, including corporate taxation and VAT, for AGCS SA and AGCS Africa.Prepare and deliver quarterly regulatory reports for AGCS SA and AGCS Africa to various authorities.Lead the credit control team to ensure effective debt recovery and maximize capital efficiency.Ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors, including suppliers, co-insurers, reinsurers, and staff.What You’ll Bring to the Role:Risk Management experience, preferably in insurance or corporate settingsExperience in accounting within an insurer or broker is advantageousQualified Chartered AccountantProficient in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel and OutlookFamiliarity with SAPGood team, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesExperience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.81086 | Finance & Accounting | Professional | Allianz Commercial | Full-Time | PermanentWhat’s in it for you?Let’s care about everything that makes you, youWe are committed to nurturing an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong.
