- Conduct duties to meet the requirements of quality patient care, ensuring that all nursing activities carried out comply with SANC regulations, relevant legislations and Life Healthcare policies and procedures
- Maintain all health, safety and infection control standards to ensure a safe patient
- Effective maintenance of equipment
- Accurate record keeping
- Patient care - Determine and administer medication, contribute towards accurate record-keeping by recording and reporting any changes in patient's physical condition and referral to medical practitioners
- Participate in facility rehab programme as determined by MDT
- Health education - Participate in education or learning programmes for patients, families, communication and staff
- In-service training - Participate and attend in-service training and engage in workplace skills plan
- Material resources - Manage ward stock and determine material needs
- Human resources - Supervise sub-ordinates, delegate responsibilities, maintain discipline, orientate new employees and manage staff schedule
- Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel to
- Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse
- Current registration with SANC
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Ability to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital, day and night duty
- Understanding of the SLA with DOH, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
