Industry: Built Environment / Engineering ConsultingOverview:A well-established consultancy is seeking a Project Manager with experience in municipal infrastructure projects, particularly in solid waste management, urban development, and engineering infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from planning and design through to construction and close-out.The role requires strong leadership, contract management expertise, and the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee both the design and construction phases of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and maintain key project management documentation, including:
- Project Management Plans
- Project Execution Plans
- Project Programmes
- Cashflow Forecasts
- Budgets and Invoicing
- Works Order Briefs
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
- Conduct contract administration in accordance with industry standards (GCC, JBCC, FIDIC; NEC advantageous).
- Ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior team members in project management principles and practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients and relevant authorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in the Built Environment (e.g., BEng / BSc – Civil, Environmental, or equivalent)
- Professional Registration with SACPCMP as PrCPM (Essential)
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Essential)
- 5–10 years’ post-graduate experience in managing municipal infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to deliver solid waste and related infrastructure projects (e.g., landfills, transfer stations, etc.)
- Familiarity with project delivery in the municipal or public sector environment
- Construction project management best practices
- Infrastructure design and construction processes
- Contract administration: GCC 2015, JBCC, FIDIC (NEC advantageous)
- Municipal processes and stakeholder engagement in the public sector
- Knowledge of solid waste management infrastructure (Advantageous)
