Job Purpose
We are seeking a Pharmacovigilance Manager to lead and oversee pharmacovigilance activities across South and Southern Africa. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety through the effective collection, management, and reporting of safety data. As a key contact for pharmacovigilance matters, you will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local regulations and GSK standards.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the collection, documentation, and reporting of adverse events, product complaints, incidents, and pregnancy reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements for safety reporting within mandated timelines.
  • Provide pharmacovigilance training to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor local scientific and medical literature for safety-related information and ensure proper reporting and documentation.
  • Collaborate with product complaint and medical inquiry teams to ensure all safety data is appropriately captured.
  • Act as the primary liaison for regulatory authorities on pharmacovigilance matters.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, medicine, or a related health sciences field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on pharmacovigilance or related areas.
  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations, systems, and processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in pharmacy or medicine.
  • Experience managing pharmacovigilance activities across multiple geographies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment and influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
