Job Summary Responsible for operating and monitoring the embroidery machine to ensure accurate setup, threading, hooping and design placement. The role is accountable for producing high-quality embroidered products in line with customer specifications, maintaining production efficiency and meeting deadlines. • Operate and monitor the embroidery machine during production • Load and change threads, needles, bobbins and backing materials as required • Set up embroidery files and ensure correct placement, hooping and tension • Perform daily start-up and shut-down procedures of the machine • Interpret embroidery design instructions from digitized files • Ensure accuracy of thread colours and alignment of designs • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain embroidery standards • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, oiling, first line maintenance & checking parts • Troubleshoot thread breaks, tension issues and minor machine errors • Report major mechanical issues to the Supervisor/Manager/Director immediately • Record production output, downtime and any machine issues • Track inventory of threads, consumables • Matric/Grade 12 (NQF 4) is essential • Minimum of 2 -3 years' experience operating multi-head embroidery machines (Ricoma experience advantageous) • Knowledge of embroidery software and digitizing is advantageous • Ability to read and interpret embroidery files (DST, EMB, etc.) • Basic understanding of embroidery machine mechanics
