- Compile and distribute toolbox talks on specific matters and ensure that employees are trained and competent on applicable EHS related topics
- Identify and drive identification of safety hazards on site and initiate measures to prevent and/or eliminate identified hazards.
- Design and/or review of internal EHS regulatory documents (policies/procedures/templates) in line with Legal Legislation andcompnay's Standards for approval.
- Co-ordinate roll-out of new and/or reviewed EHS policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance of environmental, health & safety activities against policies & procedures, legislative requirements and company's Standards.
- Identify deviations in, but not limited to the following: Behaviour, Housekeeping, Plant and Equipment, Safety records, Safety Registers, legislative training requirements.
- Conduct incident investigations.
- Initiate corrective action on the appropriate platform, reporting to relevant stakeholders and follow through until closure of Non Conformance Reports.
- Conduct audits on contractor safety files periodically and/or as and when necessary, against the company's EHS specifications to ensure contractor legal compliance.
- Co-approve contractor vehicle access, and manage biometric site access for Contractors upon legal compliance approval.
- Capture and maintain data on various platforms, and ensure that it’s correct, complete and up to date and analyse data and report on statistics.
- Report on emissions annually.
- Keep record of all activities conducted and file and maintain legally required documents (soft and hard copies).
- Load job cards on SAP and follow up with the maintenance team.
- Record, type and circulate minutes of meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with procurement of safety signage/equipment, PPE etc. and process payments accordingly.
- Diploma in Safety Management or related
- 3 years’ experience in similar role. Manufacturing environment experience is advantageous
