A leading South African manufacturer is seeking a driven and ambitious Accountant to join their dynamic team. - Support external audits and manage company-related taxes (VAT, Income Tax, Customs).
- Oversee treasury functions, forex transactions, and foreign exchange risk management.
- Compile ad-hoc financial reports, forecasts, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review departmental income statement expenses, address variances, and ensure corporate governance compliance.
- Manage provisions, accruals, journal entries, and Stats SA reporting.
- Ensure accurate local financial reporting in line with IFRS for SMEs.
- Prepare daily cash flow reports, update FX rates, and revalue foreign creditors, debtors, and bank accounts.
- Oversee petty cash accounting and reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns; assist with tax pack preparation.
- Assist in audit file preparation, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Capture foreign invoices, prepare payment reconciliations, and manage the foreign creditors master file.
- Maintain fixed assets and tax asset registers, including depreciation and wear & tear calculations.
BCom Degree in Accounting (minimum requirement).
Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA)
1 - 3 years of relevant experience post article experience.
Knowledge of IFRS is advantageous.
Strong understanding of the Tax Act (VAT, Tax & Customs).
