We are looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable Dental Assistant to support dentists in delivering high-quality oral care to patients. The Dental Assistant is responsible for preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout their visit.Key Responsibilities:Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient proceduresAssist the dentist during dental procedures (e.g., fillings, cleanings, extractions)Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipmentHand instruments and materials to dentists during proceduresTake and develop dental x-rays (if certified)Record patient medical histories and treatment informationSchedule patient appointments and handle administrative tasksEducate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment careMaintain inventory of dental supplies and order as neededEnsure compliance with infection control and health & safety standardsRequirements:Education:Grade 12 (Matric)Certificate or diploma in Dental Assisting from an accredited institutionCertification & Registration:Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dental Assistant is requiredX-ray certification (advantageous)Experience:1–2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred (new graduates may be considered)Skills & Competencies:Good understanding of dental instruments, terminology, and proceduresExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and hygiene practicesAbility to multitask and stay calm under pressureBasic computer literacy (for scheduling and record-keeping)Compassionate, professional, and patient-focusedOther Requirements:Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if requiredPhysically able to stand for long periods and handle dental equipmentSALARY IS MARKET RELATED.The post appeared first on .
