Location: Cape Town
Salary: R50,000The Electrical Engineer will support the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. The role focuses on technical execution and quality assurance of electrical engineering tasks across projects.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Electrical Department, including supervision, mentorship, and development of team members
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrades
- Design control panels based on process descriptions and cable layouts
- Prepare electrical drawings and schedules
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, SANS standards, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records and generate performance and compliance reports
- Manage maintenance and asset tracking of electrical tools and systems
- Promote and enforce workplace health, safety, and risk management
- Collaborate across departments to ensure project alignment
- Drive innovation, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Oversee departmental budgets, resource planning, and procurement
- BSc or BEng in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant electrical engineering experience (including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance).
- Registered as an Installation Electrician (Wireman’s License).
- Construction and commissioning site experience.
- Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, Soft Starters, and automation systems.
- Experience in control panel and MCC design & manufacturing (beneficial).
