Hire Resolve's client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Durbanville, Western Cape. In this role, you will assume a crucial position as the guardian of project budgets, overseeing all financial aspects related to specific construction projects. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial estimations to the finalization of cost reports, with a keen focus on monitoring and analysing changes and fluctuations in turnover and profitability.Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate in the preparation of tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimations for construction projects.
  • Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Work closely with project teams to monitor project progress and assess cost variances.
  • Assist in the preparation and assessment of variations and change orders.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs and associated documentation.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections as required.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Possess a minimum of 1-5 years of experience in the built environment.
  • Proficient in Candy CCS software.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and own reliable transportation, with a willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and BuildSmart.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and processes is advantageous.
  • Previous experience or internships within quantity surveying or the construction industry are preferred.
