💼 Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation & Management:
  • Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates for solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, mounting structures, and cabling.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost calculations for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are tracked and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Tendering & Procurement:
  • Assist with the preparation of tender documents and manage the tendering process.
  • Evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure the best value for money.
  • Manage subcontractor orders and associated documentation.
  • Contract Administration:
  • Administer and oversee contracts, specifically with a strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contract forms.
  • Manage change control processes, assessing and valuing variations and compensation events.
  • Prepare and submit monthly client applications and financial reports.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities at all project stages.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
  • Site & Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess quality, and verify quantities for progress payments.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, preferably within the renewable energy, civil engineering, or construction sectors.
  • Proven experience in both pre-contract (estimating and tendering) and post-contract (cost control and valuation) phases.
  • Education:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with cost estimating software, MS Office Suite, and contract management tools.
  • Knowledge of solar energy components and systems is a significant advantage.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • A proactive and commercially astute approach.
