Job Summary My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Clerk to join their dynamic head office finance team. This role will suit an individual with strong reconciliation skills, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.This role is a 6 month contract based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and balance cashbooks on a daily basis
  • Perform daily GL reconciliations to the trial balance
  • Process and remove contra entries where necessary
  • Prepare and post journals as required
  • Run and analyse daily reports when needed
  • Follow up on outstanding items with branches and escalate on time
  • Assist colleagues and provide ad hoc support to managers and supervisors
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for allocated accounts
  • Verify all reconciling items and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Handle general administrative duties and assist with branch queries
  • Provide support for audits by preparing required documentation
Requirements:
  • Matric with accounting or bookkeeping experience (finance qualification advantageous)
  • Studying towards a finance degree is advantageous
  • Solid understanding of general ledger reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
