Job Summary My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Clerk to join their dynamic head office finance team. This role will suit an individual with strong reconciliation skills, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.This role is a 6 month contract based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.Key Responsibilities:

Update and balance cashbooks on a daily basis
Perform daily GL reconciliations to the trial balance
Process and remove contra entries where necessary
Prepare and post journals as required
Run and analyse daily reports when needed
Follow up on outstanding items with branches and escalate on time
Assist colleagues and provide ad hoc support to managers and supervisors
Prepare month-end reconciliations for allocated accounts
Verify all reconciling items and resolve discrepancies promptly
Handle general administrative duties and assist with branch queries
Provide support for audits by preparing required documentation

Requirements:

Matric with accounting or bookkeeping experience (finance qualification advantageous)
Studying towards a finance degree is advantageous
Solid understanding of general ledger reconciliations
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
