- Administer and manage commodity trading contracts, ensuring accurate documentation and execution of all terms.
- Monitor contract performance, including tracking deliveries, pricing, and payment schedules.
- Liaise with traders, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth contract execution and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform basic financial reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of trade-related transactions.
- Maintain detailed records of contracts, invoices, and payments, adhering to internal policies and industry regulations.
- Assist in preparing reports on trade activities, financial positions, and contract status for management.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate costings, margins, and financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contract execution and market fluctuations.
- Education: A BCom degree (or equivalent) is preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, or business management. Candidates with strong mathematics performance at school and/or university level are highly desirable.
- Experience: Experience in the agricultural commodity trading industry is advantageous but not mandatory. Alternatively, candidates with a basic accounting background or exposure to financial processes will be considered.
- Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a proven aptitude for mathematics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple contracts under tight deadlines.
- Attributes: A proactive problem-solver with a commercial mindset and adaptability to the dynamic nature of commodity trading.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, particularly in agriculture (e.g., grains, oilseeds, or livestock).
- Experience with contract management systems or trading platforms.
- Bilingual candidates (Afrikaans and English) are advantageous but not required.
