Job Summary Experienced Accountant - Construction Industry Company: We are an established engineering and construction company with a proud history of excellence in delivering high-quality projects in the South African construction and automotive sectors. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled accountant to strengthen our financial team. Location: Pretoria North - Rosslyn Roles and Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. • Ensure complete tax compliance, including the preparation of VAT returns and income tax returns. • Manage payroll, including calculation, payments, and handling of PAYE, SDL, UIF, and deductions. • Manage the invoicing process for construction projects and monitor debtor collections. • Ensure creditors are paid, and reconciliation of creditors. • Reconciliations of bank, credit, and investment accounts. • Reconciliations of inter-company transactions including debtors, creditors, and loan accounts. • Ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements in the construction industry. - Compensation Commissioner returns Requirements: • BCom degree in accounting or similar. • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the engineering and construction Industry. • Excellent knowledge of South African tax and financial regulations. • Proficiency in using accounting software (Pastel Payroll and Pastel Accounting). • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • An eye for detail and the ability to maintain accurate records. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
