
CAMPUS FACULTY MANAGER - EDUCATION (ONLINE CENTRE)

- Ensure compliance with IIE policies
- Implement the IIE Teaching and Learning Strategy to improve quality and meeting delivery outcomes
- Develop teaching and learning capacity and standards on campus through managing, monitoring and implementing peer assessment of teaching, providing feedback, developing growth plans for individual lecturers, interventions as needed, quality assurance
- Organise and facilitate teaching skills and lecturer development workshops
- Organise and facilitate lecturer orientation
- Organise and implement the induction process of new lecturers to ensure all academic staff have common understanding of teaching and learning processes and requirements
- Implement a buddy system amongst the academic staff to create and promote the campus culture
- Assist in the compilation of e-PoE
- Design of student support developmental workshop topics which could include, but not be limited to:
- Study skills
- Academic conventions
- Plagiarism and referencing
- Qualifications framework
- Time management and assignment planning
- Listening skills
- Note taking skills
- Manage faculty activities to support student learning
- Manage the stated plans for the faculty
- Reporting as per requirements
- Ensure academic integrity is maintained in the assessment process from planning to invigilation, marking, moderation and feedback to students
- Contribute to the achievement of the College's strategic direction and objectives
- Provide leadership in academic activities (workshops, forums, meetings, etc.)
- Co-ordinate the implementation of the IIE Teaching and Learning Strategy
- Advise staff on discipline specific matters relating to the development, renewal and implementation of the curriculum
- Encourage staff to submit proposals to promote research
- Engage in own research and development to support skills
- Engage and encourage the engagement of the academic staff in Celebrate Teaching and Learning
- Integrate knowledge and insights acquired at developmental workshops (campus, national, IIE and external) into teaching and learning principles and practice
- An NQF Level 9 Qualification - Master's Degree
- Post-graduate Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent, OR an Honours Degree in Education
- An understanding of the current South African Higher Education regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges.
- Staff Management/supervision 2-3 years
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years lecturing experience (preferably in tertiary)
