We are looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. The successful candidate will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and exhaust systemsConduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance of trucks, buses, generators, and heavy-duty equipmentIdentify faults using diagnostic tools and manual inspectionReplace defective parts such as turbochargers, starters, fuel injectors, and brakesPerform engine overhauls and system rebuilds when necessaryMaintain service records, job cards, and maintenance logsEnsure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specificationsOperate tools such as pneumatic wrenches, jacks, hoists, and diagnostic equipmentCommunicate clearly with supervisors and clients about repairs, timelines, and costsComply with workplace safety and environmental regulationsJob Requirements:Qualification:National Certificate or Diploma in Diesel Mechanics, Motor Diesel Trade Test Certificate, or equivalentCompletion of an accredited diesel mechanic apprenticeship or learnership (advantageous)Experience:2+ years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenanceTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic toolsAbility to interpret technical manuals and schematicsAdditional Requirements:Valid driver’s license (Code 10 or 14 may be an advantage)Good physical condition and staminaStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work overtime, shifts, or in field conditions when requiredKnowledge of health and safety standards in a workshop or industrial environmentWorking Conditions:Workshop-based, with occasional fieldwork or roadside assistanceMay involve standing, lifting heavy parts, and working in noisy, greasy, or confined environmentsSalary: NegotiableThe post appeared first on .
