
Diesel Mechanic

- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair faults on diesel engines, gearboxes, differentials, brakes, clutches, suspension, and steering systems.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on heavy-duty vehicles and machinery.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing according to manufacturer and company standards.
- Fault-Finding & Diagnostics
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system malfunctions.
- Identify worn or damaged parts and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
- Workshop Operations
- Ensure tools, equipment, and workshop facilities are maintained in good working condition.
- Complete job cards, maintenance logs, and service records accurately and on time.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and company policies.
- Ensure repairs meet roadworthy, environmental, and industry safety standards.
- On-Site & Breakdown Support
- Attend to breakdowns in the field and perform roadside or on-site repairs when required.
- Be available for standby duties and emergency call-outs.
- Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- N2–N3 Mechanical Engineering or Diesel Trade Theory advantageous.
- Certification:
- Trade Test Certificate – Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal).
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years post-apprenticeship experience as a Diesel Mechanic in transport, mining, agriculture, or construction sectors.
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks, earthmoving equipment, or industrial generators advantageous
