- Review departmental income statement expenses and investigate variances.
- Prepare and process journals, provisions, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs and all local reporting requirements.
- Compile ad-hoc financial information and Stat SA reports.
- Support accurate forecasting and cashflow reporting.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Assist with provisional tax calculations and annual tax packs.
- Ensure compliance with company-related taxes (VAT, Tax & Customs).
- Support external and internal audit processes by preparing audit files, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Prepare daily cash reports with a 12-month cash forecast.
- Manage foreign exchange (FX) rates in the accounting system (iScala).
- Revalue foreign creditors, debtors, and bank accounts.
- Manage forex risk and purchase Foreign Exchange Contracts (FECs).
- Oversee petty cash processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and safeguarding.
- Capture and reconcile foreign invoices and payments.
- Maintain the foreign creditors masterfile.
- Reconcile foreign bank accounts monthly.
- Maintain the fixed assets register and tax asset register.
- Calculate depreciation and wear-and-tear for all assets.
- A degree or diploma in Accounting/Finance.
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, corporate governance, and taxation.
- Experience with treasury and forex transactions (advantageous).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
