
MAINTENANCE FITTER - EL

- When working in preventative maintenance, your duties would involve: - making pre-determined scheduled checks on machinery and working parts, finding and fixing faults, and recalibrating instruments, and undertaking regular maintenance work.
- This could be oiling and lubrication, cleaning and identifying parts in need of minor repairs, carrying out any scheduled overhaul and replacement of parts that have reached the end of their normal working life (e.g. bearings, hoses, couplings, electric motors etc.)
- Any emergency maintenance jobs or tasks could include: - responding immediately to any breakdown, fixing faults on site or alternatively arranging for replacement or temporary equipment to be installed.
- Using the relevant manufacturers or suppliers’ technical manuals and diagrams to help locate faults, and carry out the necessary work with relevant testing equipment and tools including welding gear.
- Construct and repair production aids and equipment.
- Order, check, inspect, and maintain mechanical materials, spares, tools, and equipment used to perform duties.
- Maintain adequate records of work performed.
- Maintain a clean work area in the workshop and after completion of jobs.
- The fitter’s work is also subject to inspection by safety inspectors to ensure that work is done in accordance with codes and Health and Safety and fire regulations.
- For use and repair of equipment, the maintenance fitter follows manufacturer’s specifications and manuals.
- Straight shift with Bi-Weekly Standby
- Qualified Electrician (Red Seal)
- Minimum 3 years’ Experience as Fitter
