The ideal candidate needs to be a confident team leader who is focused on delivering high quality and detail orientated work in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position will be responsible for the intake, handling and storage of bulk fruit, and the supply of fruit to the production lines. The position is based at Valley Packhouse as part of our Packing Division in Grabouw.Responsibilities:

Accurately manage bulk fruit intake procedures and ensure that storage, empty bin and manpower capacities matches weekly delivery schedule.
Plan allocation and handling of bins according to the RA and CA allocation plan
Maintain storage and batch data integrity by ensuring information reflects accurately on the stock management system
Monitor the accurate and timeous supply of bins to packing lines with minimum downtime.
Arrange consignment of fruit according to hawker instructions and transfers to other packhouses
Arrangement of transport for employees as per operational and cost requirements
Ensure adequate storage is available for waste and arrange with service provider for the removal of waste.
Manage a team of 50-80 people and ensure the effective use of disciplinary procedures and/or counselling when needed, identify training needs and communicate all necessary information to employees
Motivate and empower staff to ensure engaged team, capable of performing to the best of their abilities
Foster a team culture and value system based on trust and high performance.

Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification
At least 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment
Experience working with stock management systems will be advantageous (e.g. Vitrax)
Good communications skills
Computer literate (Microsoft Excel)
Willing to work overtime and/or nightshift hours when required
