Reports to Maintenance Manager Overview & Purpose of the role: Supervisory operational technical support function (electrical) to ensuring factory equipment availability is maintained safely, to a maximum, to meet production demand. Key Areas of Responsibility: Implement concepts, plans, designs and proposals with regards to engineering solutions with particular reference to equipment, facilities, services, energy and processes. Functional Machines: Ensuring high equipment reliability and availability through delivery of engineering solutions through planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, inspection and lubrication, Root Cause Analysis, Operator and Artisan development, Resourcing and Planning. Engineering Administration Processes that include Pastel purchase requisitions, quotation requests, Odin PM (CMMS), action plan prioritization, job card sign off, artisan daily equipment inspection and reports sign off and end of shift reports. Drawings: Able to interpret mechanical engineering drawings, flowcharts, P&ID and Gantt charts. Artisans: Provide specialist advice and co-ordination of electrical activities and manage performance of Electricians, Apprentices / Learners electrical team will report directly to Electrical Supervisor. Cost Management: Through improvement initiatives and critical spares identification and management Review with Engineering Manager daily. Health, Safety and Environment: Ensuring compliance to OSHACT and Company Safety and Environmental Protocols Key Critical Statutory Engineering Safety File. Projects: Co-ordination and participation in various projects relating to productivity, reliability improvements, energy, cost saving, expansion and processes.
Education: Matric / N6 Electrical Qualified Trade Tested Electrician Minimum 5 years Factory / Plant experience Supervision and Maintenance Computer Literate MS Office Knowledge Skills & Ability: Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks Strong Electrical Aptitude with a good understanding of Mechanical Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues (5WHY / Cause and Effect) Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, Supervisors, Artisans, Operators and Leaners Exposure to purchasing and stores management Strong Leadership & Communication skills Sense of urgency Honest and Accountable Must have full driving license
