
Electrical Technician

- Perform reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and automated equipment.
- Diagnose faults on machinery and perform root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
- Complete all maintenance-related job cards promptly and accurately.
- Provide electrical engineering support aligned with production needs.
- Maintain and program PLCs, robots, and associated control systems.
- Ensure all machine process capabilities are maintained to support efficient operations.
- Refer to and comply with equipment manuals and production process documentation during maintenance.
- Provide ad hoc technical assistance across the factory when required.
- Operate in accordance with engineering and safety procedures to ensure workplace integrity.
- Identify risks within area of responsibility and report concerns to management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal protocols.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of maintenance and safety procedures.
- Support health and safety initiatives by adhering to workplace safety standards and protocols.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments to support operational continuity.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency and professionalism.
- Contribute to the reduction of production downtime by delivering prompt and effective technical solutions.
- Demonstrate integrity and a customer-focused approach in daily interactions.
- Use resources efficiently to support cost-effective maintenance practices.
- Monitor expenditure within allocated budgets and report variances to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved processes, maintenance planning, and equipment upgrades.
- National Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Automotive, or Information Technology (NQF Level 6)
- Trade Test Certification (Electrician or Mechatronics)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Electrical or Electronic Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiar with ERP systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Skilled in PLC programming, fault finding, and robot maintenance
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and automation processes
