Purpose of Job: Responsible for the design, manufacture, re-engineering, and maintenance of all production tooling to ensure high quality output and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Design processes to manufacture, re-engineer, and maintain all production tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Ensure all production tools and equipment are in optimal working order to produce quality products. Program and operate all CNC machines and conventional machines in the tool room. Perform high-standard repairs and maintenance according to tool-making best practices. Assist the Production Department with the commissioning of new tools. Monitor and record tool performance, implement improvements to increase tool life, and reduce repair costs. Execute reasonable tasks as required by the Tool Room Foreman. Comply with all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies (OHSA, NOSA, ISO 9001). SHERQ: Each employee in the organisation is responsible and accountable for his/her own safety and that of their work colleagues, and to comply to all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies, Procedures, Laws and by-laws that the company subscribes to. Must be able to implement continuous improvements.
Requirements & Skills: Trade-Tested Toolmaker (Standard 10 / N3 qualification). ± 5 years of relevant experience in toolmaking, machining, welding, fitting, and maintenance. Experience in programming and operating CNC machines and conventional toolroom machines. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work from samples. Strong technical skills with knowledge of steel machinability. Experience in MasterCAM design and programming for CNC machines (Fanuc). Good communication skills and the ability to work independently under pressure. Knowledge of OHSA, NOSA, and ISO 9001 standards. Problem-solving, innovative thinking, and process improvement skills are essential.
