- Selling advertising space in a B2B magazine focused on the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Manufacturing industry, the website, digital products and any other supplements that are introduced.
- Ensuring that the advertising rates charged are the advertised rates and result in the required minimum yield per page.
- Servicing existing client base and building new business relationships by means of face-to-face visits
- Prospecting and developing potential clients for the publication
- Attend product launches, exhibitions and conferences where applicable or deemed necessary in consultation with editor.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure that the publication meets the standards expected.
- Submitting a sales and client visit report weekly accurately to the Sales Manager and alerting him/her timeously to any deviation or potential problem areas.
- Submitting a weekly appointment schedule and report on issues discussed with clients visited.
- Preparing a monthly sales progress report to be sent to the Sales Manager.
- Ensuring sales and material deadlines are met.
- Handling the administrative aspects of the selling process of the publication:
- Production of advertisements and advertorials.
- Ensuring production quotes are marked up by the percentages set by the company.
- Getting production costs signed off by clients.
- Getting advertising material approved and signed off by clients.
- Gathering and checking of advertising material.
- Ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
- Assisting with the collection of debt when appropriate.
- Keeping correct and updated records of clients on the CRM system.
- Assisting and communicating with the accounts department in the invoicing of clients where appropriate.
- Assisting with the marketing and promotion of the publication wherever necessary.
- Completing and submitting supplier invoices for payment timeously.
- Working in close partnership with the Editor to promote the magazine.
- Monitoring the adverts placed in competitive magazines.
- Ensure the magazine maintains worldclass standards, with a strong brand image.
- Be involved in planning new brand extensions.
- Achieves revenue target set.
- Achieves agreed minimum yield per page.
- Attends client and industry related events (including Launches, congresses, exhibitions etc).
- Meets with clients face to face (minimum per week to be agreed).
- Achieves new business targets set.
- Submits accurate sales reports on a weekly basis
