Job SummaryAn established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and hands-on SMT Supervisor to manage its Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department situated in Pinetown, KZN. This is a key role in a fast-paced electronics production environment where quality, precision, and leadership are essential.Responsibilities:

Oversee daily SMT operations and meet production schedules
Assign tasks to operators, inspectors, and material handlers
Approve first-off builds and conduct quality checks in line with IPC standards
Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, industry regulations, and customer specifications
Manage SMT machine setup, programming, and preventive maintenance
Lead daily production meetings and track performance against OTIF goals
Supervise and develop a team of SMT Operators, Technicians, and Inspectors
Collaborate with engineering to drive process and equipment improvements
Ensure safety standards, housekeeping, and audit readiness are maintained

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
3-5 years of supervisory experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing
Strong technical knowledge of SMT equipment, reflow soldering, AOI, and programming
Familiarity with IPC standards and quality control systems
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production planning
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Flexible to work overtime as needed
