1. Estimates
  • Compile estimates according to client and agent requirements for all transport modes both imports and exports.
  • Request landside and freight charges from agents and service providers worldwide.
  • Ensure that the estimate charges correspond to client rates in Cargo Wise and Forwarding Instructions
  • Quality check estimate on a continuous basis
  • Knowledge of Customs Tariffs and Port Charges
  • Forward estimate to the relevant sales or client services representative to quality check and forward to the client
  • Save approved estimate, in excel format, under the client EDOCS tab in Cargo Wise. Client Queries
  • Administrative support
  • Proposals
  • Save all relevant communication with regards to rates as well as with the agent into EDOCS of the relevant link in Cargo Wise
  • If an estimate is accepted to forward all relevant information onto the correct departments.
2. Rates
  • Communicate buy and sell rates to operations.
  • Assist sales and client service representatives with monthly rate schedules for clients.
3. Negotiations of rates with 3rd parties
  • In cases where rates are not on file, application is made to the relevant agent or third-party supplier for the necessary costs.
4. Follow Up
  • Follow up on agent estimates within 30 days to see if The Company was successful with offer.
5. Query Handling
  • Attend to any estimate or rate queries.
  • Communicate any queries and amendments to all parties involved.
Requirements:
  • Matric or Senior Certification equivalent
  • High level of Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of all transport modes Air, Ocean & Road
  • Good administrative skills
  • Sound knowledge of Incoterms 2010
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Freight Forwarding and Clearing
