Salary: R50,000 R70,000 CTCRequirementsDegree or Diploma in or Quantity Surveying3-5 years of field experienceMinimum of 5 years estimating experienceProficient in programming and estimator softwareStrong attention to detailAbility to function effectively under pressureAdvanced planning, administration, and time-costing skillsStrong negotiation skills with the ability to maintain client relationshipsWillingness to work overtime when requiredResponsibilitiesTender AdministrationRequest up-to-date FEM, BCCEI certificates, and related documentation in advanceObtain current Tax Clearance Pin from the relevant departmentHandle annual and 3-yearly CIDB renewals and upgrade applicationsTender Process (Phase 1)Monitor advertisements for tender opportunitiesAttend tender/site inspectionsRequest and compare material pricesLiaise with Consulting Engineers and request the BOQClarify uncertainties before pricingPrice tenders using EJM softwareDevelop tender programs using MS ProjectsComplete and submit all required tender documentation before deadlinesTender Process (Phase 2 If Successful)Negotiate improved material prices for the contractIssue and follow up on bulk material ordersCoordinate and conduct kick-off meetings with Contract Manager, Site Agent, etc.Construction StageVisit sites to compare actual outputs against tender assumptionsAdjust pricing or compile new rates for changes in scope or additional workReportsReview Site Certificate Register and project reports prior to distributionCollaborate with the QS on cost management reportsEJM ManagementUpdate and maintain the MasterbillCorrect errors and discrepancies promptly with line management or Ernst MaraisCost ManagementCo-manage cost reports with the QSLead and facilitate cost management meetingsPublic RelationsMaintain effective communication with suppliers, clients, and engineersDraft formal correspondence as requiredOtherPerform additional tasks as reasonably requested, in line with your skills
