- Supporting the customer in a proactive manner by anticipating the customer’s needs and leveraging familiarity with their assigned accounts.
- Ensuring that the plant fleet under service agreement receives evolution plans and life cycle reports supported by technology segment experts.
- Measuring, reporting, and presenting the value of the services delivered to key customer stakeholders ranging from Maintenance Managers to Plant Managers.
- Identifying service and system solutions opportunities to expand ABB’s value to the customer and for growing the service contracts with their assigned customers.

- Proven experience in developing solutions and nurturing long-term customer relationships within the Energy Sector, specifically in industrial automation and electrical service offerings.
- 10 to 15 years of overall professional experience, with 8 to 10 years specifically in service sales within Industrial Automation Control Systems. A strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in collaboration with the Sales Account Manager, along with the ability to provide solutions within complex technical environments and building lasting customer relationships.
- Strong foundational knowledge of industrial automation and electrical systems, enabling you to confidently engage in technical conversations and understand customer requirements. While in-depth expertise in ABB-specific technologies is not mandatory, a solid grasp of key concepts such as control systems, instrumentation, and electrical infrastructure is essential to effectively position solutions, communicate value, and build credibility with clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions and deliver compelling value propositions to customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to understand customer challenges and propose effective, tailored solutions.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a closely related technical field is preferred. Alternatively, candidates with a National Higher Diploma will also be considered, provided they can demonstrate industry experience and relevant certifications.
- Proficiency in English, with confidence in both verbal and written communication, is essential for effectively engaging with clients and internal teams.
- Valid driver’s license to support regional travel. Candidates should also possess a valid passport to facilitate cross-border travel within the sub-Saharan region, as needed. Additional certifications relevant to the role of our industry will be considered an advantage.
- Additionally, registration with relevant professional bodies such as ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa), SAIEE (South African Institute of Electrical Engineers), or SAIMM (Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) is highly desirable, as it reflects a commitment to professional standards and continuous development within the industry
