Job SummaryWe are looking for a dynamic and experienced Control System Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in PLC programming and industrial automation, especially in the automotive industry.Educational RequirementsNational Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics).Experience & CompetenciesMinimum of 3 years' experience in PLC programming, specifically within the automotive industry.Experience in working with one or more of the following PLCs: Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron.Skilled in integrating SCADA, motion control, robotics, and measurement systems with PLCs.Sound knowledge of computer and PLC system configuration.Proficient in reading and creating logic and flow diagrams.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical circuitry.Exposure to facility commissioning and project-based environments.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills.Valid Code 08 driver's license or higher.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and document process flowcharts and sequences of operations.Establish optimal control system configurations for new and existing facilities.Program, test, and commission facilities according to project scope and timelines.Develop and refine control software to improve system functionality and efficiency.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both PLC programming and electrical systems.Interface control systems with other plant systems via Serial, Digital, Ethernet, Profi-bus, etc.Provide detailed documentation and support during and after project completion.Participate in project meetings and liaise with customers when necessarySupport production and other team members on-site and remotely as required.Travel locally and internationally for site installations and commissioning activities.On-time completion of assigned tasks and milestones.Effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.High-quality, reliable control systems with minimal post-commissioning issues.Continuous improvement of processes and solutions.Deep understanding of PLC programming methodologies and architecture.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.Strong fault-finding logic and troubleshooting ability in control systems.Understanding of facility objectives and commissioning requirements.Effective and positive communication with colleagues and clients.Professional attitude with a collaborative and solutions-driven mindset.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Resilient and capable of working under pressure.Demonstrates accountability for work delivery, timelines, and innovation.Participates actively in team collaboration and respects peer input.Embraces continuous improvement and contributes to strategic goals.Displays resilience and adaptability to change.Should you wish to apply, please kindly email your CV through to Kirsten Smith atOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
