Pretoria - GautengFacilities PractitionerPretoria12 month fixed term contractR317 600paPurpose of the post:To provide effective and efficient support services to employees of the Department through the provision of sound management and maintenance of facilities.Description of tasks:Manage the services rendered by contractors:Brief contractors on projectsCoordinate briefing sessions with contractors and ensure compliance with regard to legislation and proceduresDevelop progress reports on projects and verify invoices for the work performed prior payments.Develop and maintain records of work undertaken.Building inspection:Ensure that building inspections are carried out and update inspection checklist.Ensure help desk requests are allocated and attended to by maintenance officers.Monitor inspection conducted by maintenance officers.Escalate requests that would require outsourcing.Draft ToR and ensure that day to day maintenance requests 100 000 are logged with the Department of Public WorksAllocation of office spaceAssist with the development and maintenance of an immovable asset registerCoordinate refurbishment of office space when the need arise.Attend to office space requests, identify space to be allocated and removal of furniture.Facilitate payment of service providers:Coordinate the reports based on the delivered services/goods and facilitate the payments of the service provided in line with SLA/ToRMaintain and submit monthly payment commitment registerManage human resources:Supply appropriate tools and protective clothing for use by subordinates.Ensure procurement of maintenance equipment/tool/allocate ion register during repairs.Perform other admin duties as delegated by the supervisor , including administrative related to the job for effective performance of the UnitCompetencies, knowledge and skills:Knowledge and understanding of Contract ManagementKnowledge and understanding of Logistical ManagementKnowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Management ProcessesKnowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and SafetyKnowledge and understanding of Knowledge of PFMA and GIAMAKnowledge and understanding of Computer LiteracyGood personal skillsGood leadership and managerial skillsAbility to train peopleAbility to manage conflict situations effectivelyClient relations skillsCommunication skills (verbal and written)Management skillsTeam development skillsTime management skillsElectrical and plumbing skillsInspired and motivatedInteract and communicateFlexibleReliable and honestInnovation personAbility to work under pressure and make decisionsExperience and educational minimum requirements:A National Diploma in electrical or plumbing / N3 electrical or plumbing with trade testOne-year relevant experience in building maintenance.Closing date for applications: 4 September 2025Should you not hear from us within 5 days of the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessfulApply for this Job
