Job Summary Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management:

Oversee and manage the entire commercial vehicle production line – from body building to final assembly
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet delivery schedules
Implement and maintain efficient production workflows and staff allocation
Monitor production KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Manage raw material, component inventory, and procurement coordination
Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations

Quality Assurance:

Develop and implement quality control systems and inspection processes
Monitor, test, and ensure that all vehicles meet company and industry quality standards
Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective/preventative actions
Maintain compliance with ISO, SABS, OEM, and other relevant quality standards
Train production staff on quality control procedures and best practices

Team Leadership & Coordination:

Lead and mentor workshop, assembly, and quality teams
Coordinate with internal departments including sales, engineering, procurement, and logistics
Conduct performance evaluations and implement training and development plans
Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production or operations management role within the commercial vehicle/Autobody/motor industry
In-depth understanding of commercial vehicle assembly, modifications, and quality standards
Strong working knowledge of production planning, workflow optimisation, and quality control systems
Proven leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with relevant compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SABS, NRCS, OEM regulations)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate (MS Office, ERP or production management systems)
Valid driver’s licence
Based in or willing to relocate to the East Rand (Springs or Brakpan preferred)
Autobody / Commercial Vehicle Motor Industry experience ESSENTIAL!!
