Receiving Clerk – Milnerton

We are looking for a responsible Receiving Clerk to receive, inspect and record shipments and products. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. You must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. To carry out your duties successfully, you will need adequate physical strength to unload products as well as clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers.
  • The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately.
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quanity, quality, price etc)
  • Contact supplier if a mistake is identified
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated designation
  • Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Matric Certificate
  • Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position within a retail environment
  • You will need to have a clear criminal record, good work ethics, the ability to work well in a busy and pressured environment
  • Experience in operating forklifts
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Basic math and recording abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A stable work record, and have contactable references
  • Please note you will be required to work Retail Hours: Monday to Thursday 07h30 – 17h00 and Fridays until 16h30
  • A willingness to represent the Company in a responsible manner, promoting and maintaining a professional image at all times
