Cost Accountant

- At least 3 years related experience, preferably in fruit/export/freight forwarding
- CIMA qualified, or BCom Accounting and Articles
- Proficient on Sage Accounting and Excel
- Assist in preparing the annual budget, sales forecasts, and analysis of budget vs actuals.
- Support monthly management accounts in Sage, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Help compile and submit monthly VAT returns.
- Contribute to annual audit prep and income tax processes.
- Monitor and manage weekly/monthly cash flow to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Prepare cost estimates for export markets and verify producer instructions and client invoices.
- Integrate producer costs into internal systems to support marketing and consolidation.
- Maintain daily updates to the Shipments Masterfile with shipment and payment info.
- Ensure financial records and systems meet regulatory and best practice standards.
- Assist with container consolidation and producer payment reviews before marketing sign-off.
- Provide reports and data analysis to support marketing plans and performance ratings.
- Submit monthly credit and marine insurance declarations.
- Analyze weekly supply and sales budgets against actuals.
- Prepare required reports for royalty bodies and other institutions.
- Respond to inquiries such as bank details, remittances, and payment proofs.
- Complete credit applications and route for management approval.
- Manage short-term insurance policy updates and claims.
- Generate weekly debtor aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
- Verify selling prices and accuracy of commercial invoices and debtor statements.
- Maintain weekly reports on client shipments and producer cash flow.
- Send producer payment remittances and proof of payment weekly.
- Create and submit weekly payment instructions for management approval.
