- Financial Product Research program: Develop and maintain an independent financial products research program.
- Financial Planning: Developing comprehensive financial plans, including investments, retirement planning, tax optimization, and estate planning, tailored to the unique career trajectory of professional athletes (short earning period, typically 10-15 years).
- Product Advice: Recommending suitable financial products (e.g., investments, insurance, or savings plans) based on clients' risk profiles and goals.
- Wealth Management: Managing and growing clients' wealth, including handling sponsorship income, bonuses, and international earnings.
- Risk Management: Advising on insurance products (e.g., disability or injury cover) to mitigate risks.
- Compliance: Ensuring all advice and services comply with FSCA, FAIS, and FICA regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) protocols.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, often requiring travel to meet professional players and athletes at training facilities, homes, or other locations.
- Education: Educating clients on financial literacy, products, investments, etc.
- Travel Requirement: The ability to travel extensively within South Africa is critical. This will involve remote work with in-person client meetings, requiring flexibility and a reliable vehicle.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
- Relevant tertiary qualification as recognized by the FSCA
- Preferably RE5 Certificate and potentially RE1 for Key Individual (KI) roles if managing an FSP.
- Consideration will also be given to an individual in the process of qualifying.
- Experience - Candidate dependent but preferably 3 - 5 years' experience in providing individual financial planning services.
- Regulatory framework compliance - Candidate to comply with the FSCA under the FAIS Act and FICA compliance requirements for individuals rendering financial advice.
- Exposure to professional sport either as an athlete / player or as providing services to them will be an added benefit, but not essential.
- Take note that this is a salaried position and will not be commission based or driven.
- The basic salary package, based on skills and experience, will be between R45,000 to R63,000 / month (R550k to R750k per annum)
- Annual bonus and incentives are in place for this role and will depend on personal KPI and company performance.
