- A bachelor’s degree in industrial / environmental / chemical engineering or related field is essential for this role.
- Previous experience having worked on tendering or proposals within the water/wastewater treatment plant and or chemical industry is essential for the role.
- Strong knowledge of treatment technologies (e.g., MBBR, SBR, UF, RO, UF, clarification etc) is preferred.
- Familiarity with project costing, BOQ preparation, and tendering regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD or (inventor or solid works etc and proposal software tools is pref.
- Must have excellent analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
- Experience working within the mining and or industrial industries having managed tenders is essential for this role.
- Knowledge of FIDIC is preferred but not essential.
- Understanding of environmental compliance and regulatory norms.
- Must be familiar with ERP Systems or CRM tools. Sap exp is preferred but not essential.
- Responsible for preparing technically and commercially viable proposals and bids for water treatment, wastewater treatment, and related infrastructure projects.
- Interpreting client requirements, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring all bids are submitted on time and in compliance with tender specifications.
- Reviewing and analysing tender documents, technical specifications, and client requirements.
- Preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals for water and wastewater treatment projects (e.g., STP, ETP, WTP, RO plants).
- Conducting site visits (as required) to understand project scope, site conditions, and customer expectations.
- Liaising with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance, legal) for inputs on design, costing, and compliance.
- Preparing and reviewing costing sheets, BOQS, P&IDS, equipment lists, and drawings.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and equipment for project solutions.
- Ensuring timely submission of tenders in accordance with client deadlines and internal review processes.
- Engaging with vendors and subcontractors for quotations, negotiations, and technical clarifications.
- Supporting post-tender activities including technical presentations, clarifications, and contract negotiations.
- Maintaining a database of historical bids, costing, and vendor information for future reference.
- Monitoring and analysing market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to improve bid strategies.
