We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable contractor seeking a SCADA Engineer to join their Control Systems team in Johannesburg.This is a full-time, permanent position suited to an energetic professional with 3+ years of experience in SCADA system design, programming, and commissioning-especially in solar PV and grid-tied energy systems.Requirements:
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of SCADA experience in solar PV or renewable projects.
  • Proven experience in PPC configuration and commissioning (Siemens, Schneider, DEIF, etc.).
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming (TIA Portal, EcoStruxure, Codesys).
  • Solid understanding of Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA.
  • Familiar with grid-tied logic and system-level control schematics.
  • Willingness to travel for site work and system commissioning.
  • Developing specifications and concept designs for SCADA components and system architecture.
  • Reviewing and integrating third-party SCADA systems with overall plant control systems.
  • Configuring Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and ensuring compliance with utility grid codes.
  • Experience in hybrid or BESS systems is a plus.
