Role OverviewThe Senior Account Manager will be responsible for driving sales of PV inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and medium-voltage power station solutions in the utility-scale market across Southern Africa. The role focuses on developing and managing strategic relationships with developers, EPCs, utilities, and IPPs to ensure strong market presence in large-scale renewable energy projects.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales ExecutionPromote central inverters, string inverters, and BESS solutions to utility-scale clients.Develop and execute sales strategies for large-scale PV and storage projects, from lead generation to contract closure.Identify and target strategic accounts to expand market share in the utility segment.Client & Stakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain long-term relationships with EPCs, developers, utilities, and government entities.Coordinate cross-functional teams (sales, technical, legal) to deliver tailored proposals and negotiate master supply agreements (MSAs), PPAs, and project-specific contracts.Market Intelligence & StrategyMonitor regional policies, industry trends, and competitor activity to inform market positioning.Provide feedback to product teams to optimize solutions for the Southern African market.Sales Performance & ForecastingTrack pipeline opportunities, deliver regular revenue forecasts, and adjust tactics to meet targets.Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance visibility.Project Support & ComplianceEnsure projects comply with local regulations (e.g., REIPPPP, grid codes) and client requirements.Collaborate with engineering and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.RequirementsEssential:8+ years in PV industry sales, with a focus on utility-scale projects (Inverter / BESS experience preferred).Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or Renewable Energy.Proven track record in B2B direct sales to EPCs, developers, and utilities (not channel/distribution).Strong knowledge of Southern Africa’s energy policies, utility procurement processes, and competitive landscape.Strong negotiation skills with experience closing multi-MW project deals.Preferred:Established network with top EPCs and IPPs in Southern Africa.Technical understanding of PV plant design, grid compliance, and energy storage systems.Experience delivering large-scale renewable energy projects from concept to completion.Fluent in English (additional local languages advantageous).Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
