Role PurposeManage and take accountability for the development of specific analysis & product owner practices (including but not limited to Business Analysis, System Analysis, Data Analysis, Business System Analysis), and act as a thought leader and Subject Matter Expert in the specific discipline.
Requirements
- Valid Matric Certificate
- Relevant Analyst qualification (Essential)
- Relevant B-degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline (Essential)
- Knowledge of the Financial Services and Insurance industry
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Relevant discipline-specific tools, applications, body of knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of various statistical modelling techniques and their application within complex analytical projects (e.g. decision theory, options, risk assessment, game theory, etc.)

- 3 - 5 years management experience
- 8-10 years’ overall experience as an Analyst or equivalent, demonstrating depth of technical understanding within a specific IT discipline / technology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues on integrating analytical data and insights with other primary and secondary data sources for cross-functional insight and collaboration.
- Explore and propose use of new datasets and methodologies.
- Identify and realise opportunities for automation and other efficiencies.
- Exhibit analytical rigor in the valuation of business opportunities and the quantification of risk.
- Ensure adherence to IT policy, procedures, best practice and other relevant policies.
- Act as an escalation point for any queries, concerns or service issues..
- Train others on the functions, key responsibilities, and practices of the specific Analytical discipline.
- Participate in developing formal procedures for getting things done within the organisation.
- Seek and enable understanding of how own team’s actions align with broader goals and strategies.
- Share expertise, experience and new learning with a variety of colleagues both within and outside of own team.
- Actively identify potential issues or roadblocks and effectively obtain buy-in from key partners based upon suggested solutions.
- Proactively develop specific Analytic practice based on best practice research and share knowledge and insights with peer and team members.
- Develop a Community of Practice for specific Analytic practice, encouraging collaboration within the discipline and across other Analytic disciplines.

- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders that promote cross delivery practice solutions.
