- Key responsibilities:
- Operational leadership: develop and execute IT plans with clear outcomes, manage the helpdesk, mentor engineers, track KPIs, and keep processes running smoothly.
- Compliance and risk: perform risk assessments, enforce security controls and policies, manage audits, and drive regulatory compliance.
- IT management: oversee networks, servers, systems, and cybersecurity; coordinate with vendors; lead projects; maintain documentation; train staff; and manage the IT budget.
- Stakeholder relationships: partner with internal clients and external providers to ensure excellent service and prevent escalations.
- Required qualifications and skills:
- Matric with a relevant IT qualification; at least 5 years in a similar role.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience; strong project planning and execution ability.
- Deep knowledge of IT systems, networks, and security; vendor contract negotiation; cloud experience (AWS, Azure); data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with ITIL/COBIT, regulatory compliance (POPIA), backup/disaster recovery, and IT continuity.
- Strong communication, adaptability, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
